Eat better and support your local economy by learning what to buy seasonally and how to cook great, simple, gourmet meals with your local options.
Buying locally and in season is the sustainable way of shopping. And the food is fresher when it doesn't travel over the world to reach your table.
Thanks for your interest in sustainable food choices.
Small group food preparation serves as an excellent means of Team Building for your management team, work team or family group. The required cooperation, coordination, organization, listening skills and management skills, provide a learning experience in many aspects. Preparing a meal successfully in which everything is ready at once, it's all tasty and all participants not only learn something but feel good about their experience, is an opportunity for growth and understanding. Discuss your experience while enjoying the fruits of your sustainable cooking efforts. Team building workshops occur at your venue kitchen, and are facilitated by Portland Home Cooking's owner, Judith Yamada, who is also an experienced group facilitator and mediator.

The deposit covers the cost of your menu ingredients, and is put toward your event, as well. It will be subracted from the total owed Judith Yamada/Portland Home Cooking at the end of the event.
* An agreement will be signed by both parties, outlining everything that's included, been paid and is expected, by each party, regarding your event. We'll both keep signed copies of the agreement.
*You pay only the actual cost of the ingredients for the menu items you request - not a penny more. What we pay to purchase the food, will be exactly what you pay for those raw ingredients - based on market price. You'll receive all the original food receipts.

If it takes us less time than expected, we'll tell you so. Expected average travel times are taken from online map averages. So you'll be able to access that information online too.
* You may cancel your event anytime before your menu creation or within 48 hours after scheduling. If your event is cancelled thereafter, I'm sorry, but I won't be able to return your initial deposit(s).
